Great excitement as Eastlands' lifestyle facilities go up

Post by: Eastlands Estate, 19 Jun 2017

When it comes to retirement housing options, you get two choices: old-fashioned retirement villages and visionary new lifestyle estates. We’re proud to say Eastlands falls squarely in the latter category, with our extensive lifestyle facilities rivalling that of any exclusive, upmarket estate.

At the heart of these facilities is our cutting-edge Lifestyle Centre. Construction on the centre with its indoor, outdoor and lap pools and gym and health studio, is well underway and scheduled for completion in August.

Radiating out from the Lifestyle Centre are our beautifully landscaped gardens. Indigenous, water-wise and bursting with colour, the gardens are the perfect place for a leisurely stroll, brisk power walk, spot of birdwatching or just to sit back and enjoy the view!

And that’s in addition to the plethora of other lifestyle-oriented facilities that abound at Eastlands, which – along with our next phase of upmarket units – are quickly nearing completion.

Eastlands puts the ‘life’ into the over 50s’ ‘lifestyle’

They say that youth is wasted on the young. Well, when it comes to Eastlands Mature Lifestyle Estate, we have to disagree!

You see, our estate has been specifically designed for active over 50s. They might not be that young, but they’re certainly young at heart. That means not much stands in the way of our go-getter residents, who love being social, pursuing their favourite hobbies, playing sports, making crafts, getting out into nature, and staying fit and healthy.

These sassy seniors are putting paid to the traditional stigmas surrounding over 50s and the communities they choose to live in. For example, stagnant retirement villages are a thing of the past, and active ageing lifestyle estates are fast becoming the new normal. In addition, these mature estates are not merely places to live, but to live well.

Eastlands has been developed with this thinking in mind, and embraces the concept of active ageing. The World Health Organisation describes active ageing as ‘the process of optimising opportunities for health, participation and security in order to enhance quality of life as people age’.

So how do we optimise these opportunities? Well, for a start, by establishing a world-class Lifestyle Centre that caters to a vast number of activities, from swimming and gyming to bowls and wood and metal working. We also have vegetable allotments for our residents who want to pursue a healthy lifestyle and grow their own food, and pet-friendly units for animal lovers who enjoy the benefits of feline and canine companionship (including the option to walk their furry friends on the many walking trails through our landscaped gardens!)

We also have a business centre, boardroom, hairdresser, coffee shop and restaurant to further enhance the quality of our residents’ professional and social lives.

It’s not hard to see why the Eastlands lifestyle is so enviable!

If you’d like to add more ‘life’ to your active lifestyle, why not pop into Eastlands? We’d love to show you around and help you find your perfect forever home.
